2003 Mercury Marquis Brake Lights Remain On Even After Shut Car Down Turn Off

My brake lights remain on even after I shut the car down and turn off all lights. Even when I switch the lights off from automatic to manual, they still stay on. Could it be a fuse or the brake switch and, if it's the switch, how difficult is it to change it out?

Check the brake light switch is bad. Get the new switch and the new one is under the dash on the brake pedal. then you can decide if you can change it.
