Reads trunk open but the trunk is closed! Once press the button on the steering wheel to see the readout the light goes off. What causing to light to come on?

there will probably be a switch at the boot lock that needs adjusting, get this look at first.

it will normally be a button switch at the lock with one wire attached, i do not have a pic, but more than likely this is how it will appear. if there is a wire loon going into the lock it will be internal of the lock with the auto release solenoid.
