I have recently purchased a Mercedes E500, 2003, I have had 2 instances when driving of having no acceleration all of a sudden.Pedel flat to the floor and a very very slow speed increase. Stop the car then proceed and everything works fine, full acceleration. Very disconcerting when driving. Any idea what the problem may be.?

It could be a throttle sensor. Has the check engine light come on?

Hi Mad Max. I've bought the same car same year with the same fault. Had it for a month and happened once. Did you ever get to the bottom of it? Merc specialist can find no fault codes and no obvious fault. And yes it is disconcerting.

Hi,

He never replied with a solution. Did your tech check the throttle pedal position sensor along with the throttle body? Also, when this happened, other than no throttle response, was there anything that stood out?
