My car was in the shop over 2yrs, went in with 80k on the odometer and now it reads 129k

If I took my car to a shop and the milage on the truck was 80k upon repair it reads 129k, but the car was not able to drive, why would it read 129k?

fault in the cluster. this needs to be addressed with your service manager

Either the mileage was recorded incorrectly or the meter had been swapped.
