2003 Kia Sorento knocking

I have a 2003 kia sorento and it was starting and then shutting down about 2 min later. I had the car read with the computer and the code said that the camshaft position sensor was bad so I replaced it. Now I hear a knocking in the engine. What is going on?

What was the code initially? Did replacing the sensor correct the vehicle from shutting down. What engine is in your sorento? Did you clear the code after replacing the camshaft sensor? Get back to me so I can better assist you, TY
