Oil light came on Friday I pulled into a auto shop. I was very low on oil. Needed 3 1/2 quarts. Oil light went out and everythig fine until next day. Suddenly engine light and oil and battery light came on a car turned off. I had a problem getting it started. It almost felt as though car was out of gas. It would try to start up but would spudder. Finally got it started and rivved engine every thing ok. Drove about 10 miles made several stops no problem. Tonight I drove it and it stalled at a traffic light and It won't start. Kept spuddering and missing. Finally let it sit a minute and it did start. Wondering if this has something to do with the oil being low. Does the car think it's out of oil. After I got it started tonight drove the rest of the way home with the engine light on. What is causing this? Thank you for your help. I'm unemployeed 66 year old woman and just got the a/c fixed with my last pay check. Can't afford another big bill. Blessings

I don't feel the oil has anything to do with the problem. As far as the check engine light, have the computer scanned to identify the problem. Most part stores will scan it for free. To me, it sounds like you have a weak fuel pump.
