Was driving and car started making a loud ticking/thumping noise. Turned the corner to get onto another street an jeep lost power and overheated. Let the car sit for over an hour. Car started back up but noise started to get louder and again began to thump/tick. Met with tow truck driver checked oil! Good on that but overflow for coolent empty! Could it be a stuck thermostat?

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE THERMOSTAT STUCK AND CAUSED AN OVERHEAT

THE THUMP/ TICK AIN'T SOUNDING SO GOOD.....CONTINUING TO DRIVE WITH AN OVERHEAT ISSUE MAY HAVE DONE SOME PERMANENT DAMAGE

HOW WAS YOUR "WEEKLY" OIL LEVEL AND COOLANT LEVEL CHECK AS PRESCRIBED IN YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL?

HAVE YOU NOTICED THE LEVEL DIMINISHING OVER TIME?

TEMPERATURE SENDING UNITS CANNOT SENSE COOLANT TEMPERATURE, UNLESS THERE IS WATER IN THERE
