Recently, the Jeep was idling LOW, intermittently, so I replaced the IAC at the advice of a mechanic. Now it idles HIGH sometimes (no more low idle). What might be the next logical step?

Idling speed varies with the volume of air getting past the IAC and throttle plate.

Check for vacuum leaks and ensure the throttle plate had not been tampered with to allow more air past it. Components as leaking hoses, bad PCV etc would allow additional air into system.

Ensure there is sufficient coolant in system.
