Check engine light

I had the check engine light come on, on my 2003 Hyundia XG350. It would not shift on it's own. When I got to 3000 rpm's the engine woulf just cut in and out. My cruise would not work either. I could shift the transmission in manual so I came home from work that way. I took the battery cable off and this cure the problem for now, but wondering if it will come back. Do you have an idea what the check engine was saying is wrong?

Could be the TPS and VSS sensors

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
