Turns over, has good spark at plug wire end, and fuel pump is pumping. What do I look at next? While driving down the road the engine just quit running. Towed the car home. I can hear the pump come on when key is turned, have not checked fuel pressure. I pulled a plug wire and witnessed strong sparks when cranking the engine. The check engine light is on (part of start up sequence???). and I dont have a code scanner, what should I do next?

Verify the fuel pressure with a gauge if its within specs and also scan the computer for code/s.
