I just got a new used alternator because my other one was junk and wasnt charging at all. I put the alternator i just got, in, and it still isnt charging. Is there anything else that could cause this to happen other then a junk alternator? or did the junk yard sell me a literal peice of junk?

Check for power at the main terminal of the alternator with the key OFF. If you have no power there, then you have a main fuse blown between the alternator and the battery.

Even if with the car running I disconnect the positive battery cable and my car dies? Wouldn't my alternator keep it running?

DO NOT ever do that unless you are ready to replace every computer in the car.
