Speedometer and odometer stopped working

It has to be one of four things. First, a bad connection or wiring. Second, the ECM has failed. Third, the front right wheel speed sensor has failed. Or the vehicle speed sensor has failed.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The vehicle speed sensor which is installed on the speedometer driven gear in the transaxle provides a pulse signal to the ECM, and the ECM calculates the vehicle speed. In addition to the vehicle speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor which is installed on the right front wheel provides a direct analog pulse signal to the ECM, and the ECM calculates the vehicle speed. With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is supplied from fuse 25 to the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). The sensor is grounded at G02(V6)/G03(L4).

The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) intermittently grounds the circuit, which generates a pulse signal in it. The number of pulses per minute increases/decreases with the speed of the car.

With that, the first thing I suggest is to check the right front wheel speed sensor. Here is a link that shows how it is done.

As far as the vehicle speed sensor, it is located on the transmission (see pic 1). Make sure it is connected, and make sure there is no damage to the wiring or the connector.

One other thought. Confirm that ground (G02) is good. See picture 2 for location.
