I have a check engine light on in my 03 hummer h2.
When I hook it up to the obd2 scanner it doesn't read it. Is there something wrong with the actual plug on the car?

The scanner is battery powered. I also took it to AutoZone. They check for the check engine light. They told me this not reading the connection. So it's not a problem with the scanner. I don't know what is the problem

Try what saturntech9 suggested. Check to see if the orange wire is connected. If you are not getting a reading, chances are there is a wiring problem.
