My a/c started to blow out hot air,five minutes later the cold air kicked back on. The E keeps doing this now for a week.

need to monitor the pressure to see what is happening.
could be low freon, could be a bad expansion valve, clogged dryer among other things.
pressures are critical for us to have to further help you
