Recently changed my power steering pump, now the steering is extremely hard?

Let's start with checking the fluid and make sure it is full.

If it is then lift the wheels off the ground so that you have no load and turn the wheel back and forth to work any air out.

If none of this works then I suspect the issue is the new pump failed.
