2003 Honda Civic steering

I have a 2003 honda civic 4 door sedan. 3 times this year the steering has "frozen" and I can not turn the car. It only lasts for a few minutes but is very scary when it does. YESTERDAY i HIT THE CURB INSTEAD OF TURNING ONTO THE STREET.
