2003 honda civic HX CVT automatic trans

I tried to burnish myself the clutch holding the gas and the brake pedal at the same time ( due to a judder at start ) . It smeld like I burned something, the judder has gone , but now the trans slips after driving a while and engine gets hot...
Do I need new trans , or just the clutch ? What could've happen? Thank you !

sounds like you smoked the clutch. i would get it confirmed and repaired
