2003 Accord loud rattling noise when stopped (foot on brakes) in "D" (at a stop or light). Never when in motion. happens about 50% of the time. Going on for 1 year. Dealer could not find issue last spring. 2 days ago, they replaced front links to susp. cables, telling me front right was broken and the problem. Noise is still there today! (91,000 km)

I wonder how a bad suspension system can emit noise when vehicle is stationary?

Check the drive belt. The auto-tensioner is known to rattle when it is bad or the belt is too long.

Yes it does. And most of the time, the noise is reduced or can stopped if I release the brake pedal a litttle and/or move ahead a bit. It's only once the car has come to a stop with brake pedal depressed.

I know, I was puzzled by their diagnosis, although I can accept that those links needed to be replaced if that was the case. Last spring they suggested it could be a heat shield that is not easily accessed. I already lost the front exhaust heat shield last fall and was told that one is a common part that rusts and falls off.
A Huge Thank You to all of you who take the time to answer me. :)
