Today my alternator light flashed on. i lost all power steering then the car died. i started my car again work fine park the car while i worked for 6 hours and then i drived home which was a 20 minute drive all fine. why did the car die in the first place

Crank angle sensor may be starting to fail, get a scan and see if this has logged a code.
