There is a canister on the passengers side behind that continues to thump, like it's trying to work. I pulled the vacuum (about 3/4" dia) and very little vacuum was coming from the canister. Is that a holding tank for a intake manifold vacuum or is there an electric pump feeding it..

i think you are talking about the evap canister if it's by the fuel tank. reconnect the vacuum line.
