2003 Ford Windstar The oil hose thing??

: "I have a ford 2003 Windstar. Two questions. 1) what is that hose like thing that connects from the transmission to the engine called ?? 2) if that hose thing breaks can I just replace that part or are there more problems that go with that?"Now its not like in half broken, just the one end that connects to the engine seems to be burned off. I can plug it back on but it needs to be replaced. Now is that something I can do myself or must I take it to a mechanic?

The pictures you attached look like spark plug wires. As far as the one on the transmission, if the end just needs replaced, you should be able to do that at home. Based on what wire it is, there could be changes in the way the transmission operates. Have you experienced problems?
