2003 Ford Windstar O D Off Light Flashes Breaking Jerks Forward Someone Hit

The O/D Off light Flashes when breaking and it jerks forward as if someone hit me from behind. If I turn the engine off and back on it goes back to normal until I break and it jerks forward which launches a check transmission message and the O/D Off lights begin to flash.
