2003 Ford Taurus Rattling noise

My car make a rattling sound when it is running (front end of the car) whether or not the AC is on or off. A friend told me that something to do with the air conditioning unit needs tightening.

Tell me, is the sound from the engine or under the vehicle? The ac compressor usually won't rattle unless a bearing is going bad. If it is a bearing, it will usually make a growling noise.
