POPPING COMING THROUGH THE AIR BOX...

I HAVE A 2003 FORD TAURUS THAT I JUST PUT A 3.0 MOTOR IN AND IT IDLES FINE AT OR UNDER A 1000 RPM.BUT AFTER GETTING WARM AND RUNNING FOR A FEW IT POPS BACK THROUGH THE AIR BOX.THIS CAR SAT FOR A YEAR WITH OUT RUNNING AND THE MOTOR BEFORE HAD A BLOWN HEAD GASKET...AND WAS SEIZED UP.IVE DONE ALL THAT I CAN IF I COULD GET SOME ADVICE I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP..
