clutch went to the floor and did not come back up

2003 Ford Ranger 4cyl. Was driving done the road shifted from 2nd to 3rd and the pedal stuck to the floor didn't come back up. What is the problem please

Check the clutch master cylinder and also check in between clutch pedal and master cylinder
