The other day I put a new gas filter on my sisters focus. And while I was underneath it I seen a couple of the charcoal canister hoses kind of in a kink, so I remover the retainers clips and fixed the kinks.I couldn't use the original ones so I put some in vary close,I will be putting the correct ones in as soon as I get to a dealership,so my sister was telling me that the other day she had over a half tank, and she did a little driving but not a whole lot,and it went down to a 1/4 quick it is not leaking any gas so I don't know.

If there are no leaks and it dropped that much in a short trip, it sounds like there may be a problem with the gauge itself. Have her refill the tank and see if it happens again.

Let me know what happens.
