Engine turns off when I push AC button.

Hello, I recently bought a 2003 Ford focus but when I push the AC button the engine turns off. Please help! :(

Sounds like your ac compressor locked up.When the engine is cold and turned off see if you can turn the center of the ac clutch freely?
