My trucks battery was working great until a couple of days ago I was outside doing yard work and the battery finished. I took out a home car charger and hooked it up. I charged it for a while and was able to turn on my truck so I took off the battery charger. I thought the truck would charge the battery but for some reason it didn't and now my battery will not charge.

1ST THING- TAKE THE BATTERY TO A POPULAR AUTO PARTS STORE FOR THOROUGH TESTING

IF YOU CAN MAKE THE TRUCK RUN AT HOME

USE A VOLTMETER SET TO "DC VOLTS"

A CHARGED BATTERY SHOULD BE AT ABOUT 12.5 VOLTS TESTED AT THE BATTERY POST TERMINALS-TRUCK IS "OFF"

JUMP IT/ ETC/ MAKE IT RUN! AN ALTERNATOR GETTING BACK THRU THE WIRING SYSTEM TO THE BATTERY WILL EXHIBIT ABOUT 13.5-15 VOLTS WHILE THE TRUCK IS "RUNNING", AGAIN, TESTED AT THE BATTERY POSTS

THIS IS NOT THOROUGH LOAD TESTING, ESPECIALLY FOR THE BATTERY, NORMALLY, THIS IS ALL IT TAKES TO VERIFY IF THE ALTERNATOR IS WORKING
