2003 Ford Explorer Shifting

I have a ford explorer 2003 which I have been driving for over 3years.While driving it I drive it like its manual because I have to take of my leg to let the gear change.Also When I step on my brakes the car starts to vibrate.Can You help me explain what could be wrong so I know before taking it for repairs.

have a trans guy look at that it may be a sticky valve or governor or may be going bad too. for brake vibration you probably have bad rotors or need to be turned and you are feel ing pulsation when applying brake(feels like pedal going up anddown) so have brakes checked.
