ac whistles/ works well

air condition whistles when car is accelerated for the first time and sound disappears. The noise appears to be in the ventilation system.

If you hear it in the vent system, my guess is the blower motor is going bad. There is a bearing in it that dries out over the years. As a result, you can get a squealing sound from the motor. When you pull out, there is a change in pressure on the bearing. That is my first guess without hearing it. Locate the motor (under the dash on the passanger side) and see if that is where the sound is coming from.
