2003 Ford Expedition Steering shaft

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition I have play in the u joints of the steering shaft can I just buy a new u-joints or do I have to buy the whole shaft

You will have to ask a ford dealer spare parts this question, but looking at Mitchell 1 data base, it looks as if it is a serviced item, if you do remove the shaft ensure that the steering is set at straight ahead and the steering wheel is not turned while the shaft is disconnected as you will destroy the clock spring for the SRS system.
