how do i attach an image. i have torn down a 2003 dodge ram 3.7 liter and have a spare part (2 each) which i think might belong in the timing chain tensioner area but not sure. it is half moon shape made of spring steel and is about 1/64' thick. it is worn on the outside portion of the curve just in the middle portion.

It sounds like part of the timing chain tensionier. To attach an image, go to the browse section below the message. Click browse and upload picture. I have attached a couple pictures that may help.

From the picture, it looks like a guide that rides at the bottom of the timing cover. If I recall, the part rides at the lower section (under the crank) in the timing cover.
