I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 w/a hemi. A lightning bolt icon on the dash came on. What does this mean?

Ok it seems that the computer has picked up a problem with the electronic throttle control and has set a code. So what I would do is see if any of your local parts stores does a free scan. Have them scan it and write down the code. Then clear the codes and get back to me with the code and I will look it up to see what test or tests need to be done.
