So I understand correctly;
The Oil light came on, (as it should), when the key was turned to the run position.
Once engine was started, the oil light went off, (as it should).
The engine was turned off and the Oil CHECK LIGHT TURNED OFF, (AS IT SHOULD).
The with the key in the run position, the OIL CHECK light was off, (and it should be ON).
When the engine was started, the OIL CHECK light came on, (and it should be OFF).
This is indicating a low oil level or low oil pressure problem.
First, make sure the oil level is OK.
If it is, try not to run the car unless you have to. If there is an oil pressure problem, running it can cause enough damage to ruin the motor.
Let me know the following;
How long did you run the engine after the OIL CHECK light was ON?
Did the engine make any noises or change idle or anything different than usual?
There is the possibility that the oil pressure sensor is bad. However, until a problem with low oil pressure, running it may ruin it. So, I would not run it until the possibility off a low oil pressure issue has been ruled out.
I will keep an eye bon this post for your response and get back to you ASAP.
