on my obd11 code reader it shows pcm not recieving messages where my odometer is reads no bus what could be my problem?

The tachometer receives its information across the PCI bus from the BCM. Information on engine RPM is transmitted from the PCM across the PCI bus to the BCM. The BCM calculates the position of the tachometer pointer based on the input from the PCM and adjusts the position of the gauge pointer to the necessary position. This signal is sent over the PCI bus to the instrument cluster


As a quick diagnosis, instrument cluster will perform a function check immediately after ignition is switch is turned to RUN or START position. Electronic display, odometer/transmission range indicator and all warning lights except low fuel, cruise, high beam, foglights and turn signal will illuminate for a brief period. If cluster is not receiving PCI bus messages, cluster will appear non-functional and NO BUS will be displayed in odometer display.
