I have a 2003 dodge intrepid and it takes spells it wont take gas and then its like it gives the gas itself in short spurts.

The most likely culprit is a sticking throttle cable. Try spraying some WD-40 into the cable from the throttle body side and see if that helps. Let me know and we will go from there.
