Lift the tab on the side of the connector and pull the connector by the body, not the wires.

Forgot to mention there are some connectors that have a red lock in the connector to prevent it from accidentally coming unplugged. If you have that, use a pick or flat screwdriver to slide that lock sideways about 1/4". That will allow you to lift the catch and unplug the connector.
