Almost a week ago my battery light started coming on occasionally. Turning on the the car 3 times in a row gives me the error P0622.

On day 2 I believe my battery discharged enough that the automatic shifting was failing and when I pulled over I could not start the car. I got a boost, drove home, and hopped on the motorcycle.

First I replaced the battery as existing was already 6 years old. The last 3 days my battery light is on when I start my day and drive to work. Running errands after work, the light goes out.

When the battery light is on my multimeter reads the regular 12+V range for the battery - so battery is not receiving a charge.

When there is no error light my multimeter reads a charge, I think it was just over 14.

I plan to test the pulley on the alternator after work today.

I'm wondering if it could be a computer/voltage regulating issue based on the error code. What else should I check for? Cleaning connections? Replacing fuses?

Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks!

Hello, I'm Danny.

This code is relating to the alternator and alternator circuit. Here is a tutorial showing how to test an electrical circuit:

Hi Danny,

Thank you for providing the diagnostic procedures, but looks like I will be taking it to the shop as I don't own a DRBIII or know the names and locations of the circuits.

Thanks,
Brett
