2003 Citroen C3 Car Just Failed Mot Because Offside Front Ball Joint Excessive

My car has just failed its MOT because the offside front ball joint has excessive play. The guy said that in some cars you can just replace the joint bit and in others you have to replace the whole arm. Could you please tell me what the case is with a Citroen c3.

You can replace the ball joint only on this car, see pic.
