i cant figure out what to change, the speed sensors or the whole transmission. it would occasionally quit shiftinggears while driving but if i pulled over and shut the car off and restarted it, it would be fine for a few. i recently changed the filter and fluid and then it wouldnt go into gear at all unless i rev the engine up really high but as soon as i let off the gas, it wouldnt go into gear

This is a slipping transmission, The speed sensor not at fault, The reason is it would not go in gear unless I rev the engine , When you rev the engine up you increase fluid pressure, allowing the torque convertor to do its job, the transmission is over the hill.

you need to either have it re built or replaced.

it is going into limp mode due to an internal failure
