no oil pressure

there is no oil pressure at all... when i start it the oil light comes on then goes off, but still no oil pressure. what can be done?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge,if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearing.

could be your gauge has died? you could take wire off sender and ground it to block while key is on and gauge should max out. what weight oil are you using?
