2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer Transmission

I just bought a 2003 trailblazer. The check engine light came on after just having it for a month. Have they been having problem with the transmission for this make & model. It seems like it slipping, not really sure though. Haven't bought it to a repair shop yet. Don't wanna replace the transmission & it's not the problem. Maybe the chech engine is for something else. Just want know, have they figured out the problems.

Not sure what problems you're referring to, but your Engine Computer has detected a problem. It also set a diagnostic fault code, and since this problem could adversely affect emissions, it turned on the Check Engine light. There's well over a thousand potential fault codes. Many auto parts stores will read those codes for you for free, but it's important to understand the codes never say to replace parts or that they're defective. They only indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis, or they state the unacceptable operating condition that must be diagnosed.

Many fault codes sound similar so it's important to know the exact code number. From that we can get the description.
