Light bulb is incorrect wattage? Too big of a bulb will throw off more heat.

dim light plug keeps melting

What dim light plug is this pertain to-? Headlamp plug or ??????????? if its the correct bulb wattage and wiring is melting away-sounds like a direct short to ground or its crossed here, is involved with that circuit
