I have had my Trailblazer since May of 2011. It started fine till one cold morning in December. When I started it, it was puttering, I could not accelerate well. My check engine & reduced engine yellow light came on. Aften running for five minutes, I will turn it off and start it again and the puttering stop and had normal accelaration. The reduce engine power light would come off followed by the check enging light. The next cold morning it would do the same thing again.

You need to read codes for clue. It's going into limp mode.

The best thing to do first is to have the trouble codes pulled. Any Advance Auto or Auto Zone store will do this for free.
It is more than likely the Idle Air Control Valve, IACV, or the Fast Idle Thermo Valve, FIT.
They may need to be cleaned and/or replaced as well as the ports that they open and close.
The codes willl tell you if there is an elctrical fault which there must be if the CEL is coming on.
