I have a 4.2L 4x4; the fan is not stable it is wobbly. After researching online and ruled out the fan clutch, thinking it was the bearing behind the pulley that needs to be replaced - i noticed a crack on the block behind the pulley

water pump is what you are referring to. yes, it most likely has failed.

as far as the crack, can you post a picture???
