2003 Chevrolet Tracker Creaking noise

Recently, I have noticed that I hear a quiet creaking noise when I am turning into a parking spot or when backing out slowly. It seems to happen when the brakes are applied and as I am turning the wheel. I checked the steering wheel fluid and that was ok. What could it be?
