In my 2003 Chevy Tahoe Z71, about 60% of the time when I first start it up or after driving it a very short distance, the engine will have a VERY rough idle. It will, during said odd idle, dip extremely in RPM, from the normal 700 to 200-300 and sometimes, if I do not drive continuously and immediately upon the RPM dropping repeatedly, the engine will just quit. It should be noted that I recently replaced the spark plugs with OEM ACDelco plugs and spark plug wires. What is going wrong with the beast and what can I do to correct it?

The first step would be to check for any stored trouble codes for a possible starting point.

Actually I did, about a week ago. It said that Bank 1 was running lean. Could it be as simple as a side of my engine running lean?

That's a bit unusual for only one side to be lean. I would look real hard for any type of vacuum or air leak on the driver's side of the engine.
