2003 Chevrolet Silverado First Started Truck Shows Low Charge On Gauge Rpms

When first started my truck shows low charge on gauge. When rpms are brought up gauge then jumps up to correct charging level on gauge. Once the odom read BATTERY NOT CHARGING. Would this be my alternator?

yes, it is. it will most likely have to be replaced.
