engine stalls and battery light comes on when you stop at a corner if you do not maintain 500 RPM

Had the alternator and the battery checked and they are OK. The orginal battery died so a battery charger was placed on the battery. Now the battery light will come on the engine will stall if the motor goes below 500 RPM at an idle.
