Tranny acts confused

Have a 2003 Chevy S10 2.2L it is idling rough, has problems accelerating and isn't shifting right its shifting way to soon and way to late we have replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires. Can you help us with why its not running right from idle to approx 1500 - 2000RPM. Also, when it finally idles out the tranny acts confused.

Yes and I done a diognostic test they said it was my fuel cap but its getting worse it has no power goin up hills and sounds like it isnt gettin fuel

I need to know the code. Who said it was the cap? After replacement of the fuel cap, was the trouble code erased and is the same code back?
